Philipian 3:12-13. 26/11/2014

Philipian 3:10
"I want to KNOW CHRIST and the POWER OF HIS SURRECTION and the FELLOWSHIP OF SHARING in his SUFFERINGS,
________BECOMING LIKE HIM in his DEATH, and so, somehow, to ATTAIN TO THE THE SURRECTION from the dead."

Philipian 3:12
"Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to TAKE HOLD of that for which Christ Jesus TOOK HOLD of me."

Phillipian 3:13
"Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: FORGETTING what is BEHIND and STRAINNING toward what is AHEAD. I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus

Take hold = (1) to seize, as by grasping
                  (2) to become established: The newly planted vines quickly took hold.
Strain (v): make unusually great effort.
               Ex: His voice was so quiet that I had to strain to hear it.
Press on = Press ahead = continue in one's action
               Ex: I press on toward the GOAL to win the prize for which Gos has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Phillipian 3:12 teachs me:
- Keep what God is promising to you TIGHT! No matter what happens to your life right now, you take hold, you believe, you say the words that He promises to you.

Phillipian 3:13 teachs me:
- God wants me to see the PRESENT = the thing AHEAD of me. Focus on the present and make something out of your present now means you need to forget your old self, your "behind" and...

PRESS ON to the GOAL.
PRESS ON to take the PRIZE.

- I believe I can do all things through Christ who strenghthen me.
- I believe I can make my company and my family so so much better
- I believe I am a godly leader.
- I believe I can play music
- I believe I can travel
- I believe I can forgive my mom
- I believe I can take care of my dad and my sister

- There is some wrong believing in some areas in our lives.
- The New Convenant is all about BELIEVING.

THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL LIVE BY RIGH BELIEVING

- Convenant (Theology) = An agreement which brings about a relationship of commitment between God and his people. The Jewish faith is based on the biblical convenants made with Abraham, Moses, and David.
