Uncle Thuan - You Are In My Heart
I received a bad news that my aunt's husband had a stroke and passed away.
My childhood had many happy moments with my aunt and uncle. They cooked for me and my cousins. My aunt was a good cook and she was always feeding us with delicious food and funny stories. My uncle was always a part of that happiness creation; he was either on the grill or helped my aunt prepare some ingredients, he was even playing video games with us sometimes. They were so easy going and always made fun of each other. What a cute couples I have ever seen and there is once time I told myself that my future family would be like my aunt and uncle's family. Both of them were hilarious and I always felt the sense of happiness and fun whenever I visit them.
Loving and laughing...
They took us to Water Park many times (Vietnam had a pretty big Water Park) and we had so many great times.
They took us to go swimming during summer.
Their house was a gathering place so all cousins could come and play games together.
Our number one favorite place for Tet was their house.
The place was holding many our memories. We played, slept, laughed, and cried under that happy roof.
The house has aunt Hanh and uncle Thuan.
My uncle was a simple man. He was like a country man with his dark skin and curly hair. Hilariously, my mom told me somehow I was like his son because I was so tanned and my hair didn't behave well, even it was been through roughly combing . He was a caring and loving man who had a tough appearance. A man could scare you by a furious eye-to-eye stare and could throw a knock out to any bad guy.
I don't want to keep dwelling on the sadness, instead I am praying for him and his family. I want to thank him for being my uncle and whatever he has done in my life:
Without you, I didn't have chance to taste so many great food.
Without you, I didn't have so much fun when I was a child.
Without you, I didn't know how happy a husband could bring to his family.
Without you, I couldn't know how an uncle I should be.
I missed you so much, uncle Thuan.
