Self Dialogue with Seth about "Hard Work"
"I don't think winners beat the competition because they work harder. And it's not even clear that they win because they have more creativity. The secret, I think, is in UNDERSTANDING WHAT MATTERS.
It's not obvious, and it CHANGES. It changes by CULTURES, by BUYERS, by PRODUCT, and even by the DAY OF THE WEEK. By those who manage to capture the imgination, make sales, and grow are doing it by:
- PERFECTING THE THINGS THAT MATTER
Both parts are DIFFICULT, particularly WHEN YOU ARE SURROUNDED BY PEOPLE WHO INSIST ON FRETTING ABOUT and working on the stuff THAT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL."
- IGNORING THE REST.
I am always questioning myself a lot. I am 26 years old and I know time is passing so fast. Therefore, I am questioning myself several topics below:
- What does matter in my daily blog writing?
- What does matter to become an entrepreneurs?
- What does matter for my health?
- What does matter for my familly?
- What does matter before I become 30?
- What does matter for my Vietnamese people?
- What does matter for my hometown, Da Lat?
- What does matter for my learning and education
- What are things that are distracting me from the matter things?
- What does matter for all four year college in US?
- What does matter to become a writer?
- What does matter about reading a book daily?
- What does matter...
We need to dedicate time and effort to do things that matter the most to us. From my personal experience of creating this blog, it does really matter to me because I learn a lot by writing and I see when I begin doing something out of the range and out of comfort zone, I will grow. I want to put a dent in the world and I think people are underestimating the power of a blog, so I want to use the blog like a platform to connect me with the world, as well as, share lessons and interesting things I pick up in life. It is not perfect, it is not beautiful, and my writing is not pretty, but I just love it.
The same thing to you, my friends. I know you have something to share with the world and I want to encourage you to do and start building something that maybe ugly and imperfect, but when you do it, you will see yourself diving into another world and see a different perspective in life.
Hard work is dedicating the utmost effort to the things that matters to you.
