Brilliant Stealer #1 - Teaching is Marketing
The Purpose of Brilliant Stealer
The purpose of Brilliant Stealer is keeping myself to
write, even just a very very little. I admit that writing something concrete
and original by yourself is hard. I will try to write something that I can be
proud to claim that is mine later. However when I come across all books, I find
something interesting and I will feel guilty if I don’t share with all of you.
Moreover, I feel lazy sometime to write something unique.
So I start one section called Brilliant Stealer.
Being Brilliant is not for me, but for the author. For myself, I claim myself a
Stealer. Brilliant Stealer will give you just a drop of writing. It
will be just a short paragraph and some minor and quick thinking of mine.
- I will introduce authors, books, short paragraphs, and my thought to you.
- I will put some random thoughts about life, love, career, etc...whatever
So, let’s go stealing!
Brilliant Stealer #1 - Teaching is Marketing
Seth Godin – Whatcha Gonna Do With That Duck? – Listen to
this ….
“If marketing is the art of spreading ideas, then teaching is a kind of marketing. And live teaching to groups is broken, perhaps beyond repair. Consumers of information won’t stand for it. We’re learning less every time we are confronted with this technique, because we’ve been spoiled by the remote control and Web.”
Stealing...
What we miss in teaching and education are two things: people
who are passionate about teaching and the way to engage people with learning.
Teacher must be a marketer or a salesman who must know they are selling a piece
of information and figure out how to present it in the best way to entice
students.
Information is now not a challenge, but choosing credible
information and presenting information in a consumable way are problems. The
remote control and web appear because customers are in charge of what they want
to watch and it is a market voice to destroy sucking shows, boring contents,
and disconnected ideas. Moreover, time for searching and browsing is short and TV
shows is a long list.
No time for waiting. No time for being patient.
And Mr. Professor, you know what?
You will be forwarded, just like a remote button!
